Our Work

Prendergast Schools Trust (PST)is a registered charity dedicated to supporting the work of the schools within the Leathersellers’ Federation.

Please read on to see specific examples of how the Prendergast Fund is funding opportunities for pupils in its pilot year at each participating school.


Prendergast Ladywell Primary School

Prendergast Ladywell Primary School will use the Community Fund to ensure that every child in Years 1 to Year 6 has a fully funded visit to the Unicorn Theatre to see productions that are relevant to the curriculum. The school will bring a theatre company into the school to perform a pantomime for all year groups including Reception, and will work with Shakepeare’s Globe who will deliver an in-school workshop based on the texts studied in Years 5 and 6.


Prendergast Ladywell Primary School

Prendergast Ladywell Secondary School will use the Community Fund to help develop public speaking and debating skills throughout Years 7 – 10, working with Debate Mate and Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge. Years 7 -10 will have a fully funded trip to Shakespeare’s Globe to see a production of a text they are studying. Year 7, and Quantum Theatre will visit the school to perform texts that are studied in Years 9 and 10. Years 10 and 11 will have a fully funded trip to Poetry Live, where some of the UK’s leading poets whose work appears on the GCSE syllabus (including poet laureate Simon Armitage) will read their poems and give inspirational talks. The school will work with The Learning Partnership with Year 7 taking part in the “Race to the Line” STEM challenge, and with Innerscope to extend the ambitions of pupils in Year 10.
